Mission Control

Greetings from Mission Control! Here we are immersed in concerts and carol services, but we certainly have not forgotten our fantastic Away Team. As we enjoy the Boarders' Christmas Lunch tomorrow, we hope that the food is still on your plates and that you can sleep in your bunks without danger of falling out! It must be particularly exciting as you enter the final week of your expedition. On the one hand, the Antarctic Peninsula lies ahead in the vastness beyond; on the other, you must be thinking of home, and Christmas, and family and friends. We note from thereport of Commander Bailey at Ratho Weather Base that you are enjoying about the same amount of daylight as us. We are sorry to hear about the snow and sleet, though. Here it has been bright and sunny, which has certainly lifted our spirits. The Lower and Junior School Carol Services have been wonderful, and we are now looking ahead to House Pantomimes on Monday and the great Upper School Carol Service on Tuesday. This year we are having extracts from a medieval mystery play. Enjoy these exciting days! We hope you catch sight of orcas and perhaps even hear their communication. Love to you all from everyone at St George's and Mission Control.
